I need one before Camp Jeep, and that is coming up next thursday August 11th. I called Advanced Auto parts, and you would think I asked them if they had a Flux-Capacitor.... |

If you have a trick trucks nearby then they would probably be your best bet. If not you could try the Tractor supply, or truck only parts store (not autozone, or Manny, Joe, and Jack) |

The Uhaul store had them for sale when I was shopping 'round for hitches there. Note: this was an actual full-blown Uhaul store (with boxes, repair bays for the trucks, full blown sales department...), not a little mini-storage or similar that rents just the trucks out. |

You could also try 4WD Hardware (www.4wd.com) I'd call them though, they're website doesn't always cooperate with searches. They're maybe a little over an hour drive away from you in Columbiana, OH. |

Can I get by without the D-ring? I got the Hitch and ball. I'm sure that a tow strap or chain could be wrapped around that to make for a good towing point. If worst comes to worst, I should be able to buy, beg, borrow, or steal one at Camp Jeep.... |

I would not suggest having the ball and bar in the hitch while trail riding because of departure. I had a 79 full size bronco and it got hung up to the point the back tires were completly off the ground. Check some of the places suggested the d-ring is a helpful tool when you are the one that is stuck (I know from experence) |

Don't use a ball to try to hook a strap to. If anything, you can just use the hitch pin by itself (just slide the strap into the receiver, and then the pin to secure it in place). If you think about it, the shackle is only as strong as the hitch pin. Hope this helps. |

Call OK4WD at 908-454-6973 They will have a tent set up just outside of Camp Jeep. They will have some for sure, but you might want to prepay and then just pick up to save shipping. |

Just go there, be safe and have it out of the way. |
