Skyjacker 2.5" lift, 32" 265 75 16 Interco Trxux tires on 16" MT Classic lock wheels. I also have a new ARB bumper with 8000lb Warn Winch , Mopar skids, rear Powertrax no slip locker . Immediately after lifting the jeep was 4" higher and I expect it to settle, but right now i have the known cv joint woes . I didn't have this problem with the stock tires on a 2.5" lift, but it reared its head as soon as I went to the 32" tires . I have filled the cv boots with axel grease which was said to be a cure, but mine are still clicking, mostly just following a turn. Can I trust this on the highway or do i have to go with a aftermarket heavy duty cv joint ? I still do get rubbing when turning sharply, I guess I'll have to learn to adjust my driving or get smaller tires ( yea right!!). |

not sure what others will say about that but clicking and popping while turning is a tell tail sign that the cv joints are pissed at you. i have the same lift and tires and mine hasn't started to pop yet. |

How do you add grease to the boot? |

i know this is kind of a bad looking thing comsmetically, but maybe putting your old tires back on (if that makes the angle less severe) and letting the lift settle before putting the new tires back on would help? i dont have a lift, but I would think that *might* help, just my 2 cents. |

I removed the small band and slipped a needle attachment to the grease gun underneath the boot and filled . Actually, I have an update after travelling a few hundred clicks today . I think my popping noise is the powertrax no slip locker . It releases the outter wheel in a turn and rather harshly locks up when I straighten out . I just wonder if this is normal as it feels and sounds a little harsh to me . I have heard these lockers are mechanical and noisy, but I didn't expect this. It feels like something will break to me . Do you have the same rubbing issues as I do while turning sharply? I cannot go to a full lock turns or the tire will rub in the pinch weld area . I have the picnch weld completely removed and wheel liner removed as necessary. I was thinking about hammering the material back but I am nervous as there is electrical equipment directly behind this area . robert |
