Post subject:  Franken lift/ Rubicon Wheels

I am getting ready to order the Franken lift from All J Products and I have a deal here locally on a set of Rubicon Wheels and the stock Tires that came with the Rubicon :D . I have an 05 Rocky Mountain Edition (Renegade X package). Does this sound like a good set up to everyone out there or does someone have any other suggestions?

That's what I run and it works great! I used to run my stock wheels with a 245/75/16 and it would rub on the swaybar a little before full lock. Now with the Rubi rims and same size tire there's only a little contact just below the fog light door (which is typical for everyone). I got my entire turning radius back. Keep in mind that you may have some contact on the pinch weld at the back of the wheel well, but that's about a half hour fix if you need to pound that down.

What price did you score the wheels and tires at? How many miles on them?

I got the whole set 5 wheels/tires for 900 with 1500 mileson four zero on the spare and no scratches. The best thing is no shipping charges (to Iceland  ) He is even going to help me install my lift. He just lifted his Rubicon and has ordered new wheels and tires.

I am wondering if I will rub up front since I don't have fog lights for some stupid reason they were not available on the 05 Rocky Mountain Edition. I think I am going to put some Hella 500's on it some time. Probably just mounted on the bumper.

It doesn't actually rub on the foglight or have anything to do with it (they relocated the foglights in 05 anyway). You'll probably just a get a slight rub in front at full lock, but it is just on plastic. Nice work on the rims and tires - that's a pretty good deal considering you didn't have to pay for shipping. Just make sure your buddy knows what he's getting into. Lifting a Liberty (ifs) and a Rubicon (solid axle) are two completely different animals.
