I just found out I have the rest of the week off. Is there anyone who is also off, or can take some time off and run up to Moab for 3 days or so???

If I can find a partner in crime, I'm thinking about leaving early Wednsay morning (15th) and driving back on Sunday.

Anybody interested???

Beth is in Pittsburgh this week visiting family and friends. Since nobody could take the time off and run up to Moab with me, I took the camera and JK out to Montana Mountain Road (Wells #48) for a couple of hours yesterday morning.

Nothing unusual to report, however I did find a new way (new to me anyway) to start the trail. Instead of going straight across the large wash at the beginning, I turned right and was able to follow the wash upstream for a few miles. There were a couple of gates I never saw before that allows you to continue past the fences strung across the wash in several places. It's nothing difficult, just a fun place to play in the soft sand/gravel before you have to take the road the rest of the way.

Here are some pics I took. Wish they could of been from Moab, but that's okay... there's always another time. Maybe we could put together a AZ LOST Moab trip later this year and invite the guys from CA and NV to join us??

The regular way in...

The desert is really green this year...

Okay, I know, these are just "poser" shots of the JK, but hey... it's a Jeep thing!!

Note: If anyone wants to join in on a run this Saturday, I'm doing one with another group. Let me know and I'll post up the meeting place and time if your interested. So far there are 16 Jeeps and other 4x4's signed up. I only made one run with them back in January, but they're a pretty good group of down to earth people. Kevin knows a few of them from the Ham radio club.

I'm not sure which way we're going in, from Cave Creek or Table Mesa, but the destination is Sheep's Bridge.

Here's a pic I borrowed from their website...
