We are going to follow Mogollon Rim Road or FR300 from Pinetop-Lakeside,AZ west to the Pine area. From there we will take Fossil Creek Rd. or FR708 from Strawberry to FR502. Then follow that S.west to FR68G and head west over to FR68 and follow FR68 or Dugas Rd. west thru Dugas and on to I-17 at Exit#268(may have to take FR708 over to I-17 due to a possible bridge closure). There are several lakes with camping areas north of the rim in the Sitgreaves N.F. west of the crossing with Hy.260 we will camp somewhere in this area Sun. night and finish the route on Mon. The dates are a Sun. and Mon. but I only have Sun., Mon., and Tues. off. If anyone has done this route or would like to join us, please post up. |

We don't need no stinkin camper!!! I only use a tent because of the wife and dogs. Give me a good bag (sleeping bag) and a tarp and I'm good. Winter camping is great fun!! What is cool is wakeing up and you have several inches of snow on the tarp that is covering you and your bag. |
