Chimney rock is a nice little mini-moab type rock garden in the reddington pass area near Tucson. There are any number of options to play on from mild to wild depending on your interest level.

Meet at the Circle K at 11271 E TANQUE VERDE RD in Tucson at 10 AM Saturday 4/4/09

Time permitting we may run Chivo Falls trail also. Chivo falls has been run successfully by several stock liberty's but has some optional obstacles that make it interesting for all levels of vehicles and drivers. The falls will be beautiful this time of the year with water running over the falls

Vern... thanks for the pics and leading a fun run!!! We enjoyed dinner too and it was a nice surprise to see your wife.

Paul and Vern are the two "rock stars" for todays run. Paul made it down and up a steep hill called the "mini Lions Back. I tried going up first but backed off. Paul, way to go!!!

Vern showed us his stuff at the "Three Feathers" section of Chivo Falls trail. Pics don't do this section justice. There were tall ledges and off camber spots. He made it look easy with his skillfull driving and locked TJ. No one else in the group would even try to do what he did.

Roland... what can i say about us? We just didn't have the right stuff to go were the "Rock Stars" went.

Hey guys, once again, thanks for a fun day, on a fun trail with some mighty fine folks!! See everyone at FITS, if not sooner. AJ and Beth

Here are some pics from today...

And here's Vern doing what no one else would try. The pics do not even begin to show how difficult this section was...

Man what a run! These trails are on the possible docket for FITS. Very nice to see everyone and to see everyone play on the trails.

AJ is right - pics do not do justice!!! These LOST rigs were climbing close to 45 degree climbs and 24" tall ledges standing at 90 degrees. I told them their driving skills and line picks make them defy gravity and their trucks just float over the obstructions. We saw a LWB PU try to go through the spot the TJ got through and failed/rerouted to an easier line (we also heard a very loud pop during his attempt- I suspect he twisted thru splines/broke an axle).

This was the first time for me at these locations and it was WELL WORTH IT !!

Trails are OK for stock height and these play places are optional lines to take.
Chivo in Chivo Falls means goat and you gotta be one to transverse this section- stocker OK but pick your intelligent lines. My truck is 1" over stock and only bumped my skids twice over many miles.

But it all translates to fun and that's what you'll get.

Great job guys. I love to see that a last minute trip, just thrown together got a good turn out. Shows the dedication and desire that we have.

Trails look great too. AJ as usual great pics. If I was there, i'm sure you would've made it up that hill. haha. Did you guys do all of Chivo Falls or just the 3 Feathers part?

Mike

Thanks Mike!! Nope, i don't think I would of made it up. Must be old age setting in causing me to be too cautious, or more like it... lack of ability.

No, we stopped at Three Feathers. Vern in his locked Rubi was the only who tried and made it down and back up.

Oh, and I'm sure if you and Ernie had been there, you guys would have made the Lionsback and three Feathers in "reverse"!! :P

Not sure if I'll make that one. Aside from this Sat, I'll be working 6 days a week for the next month. Where are the local runs posted? I'd really like to get out with you guys.
