Post subject:  Jun Run Suggestions...

Okay... gotta keep the ball rolling, after all, this is a Jeep club and one object is getting out on the trails. Since nobody has scheduled the AZ LOST Monthly Run for Jun, or tossed out any ideas, I'll start....

How about Jun 23 and we do a combination of three trails north of Cave Creek??

- Camp Creek Road (Massey C-27) with a side trip to Sheep Bridge along the Verde River

and

- Bloody Basin Road (Massey C-30)

All the trails are rated easy and have a 7~9 scenic rating. Trail mileage is 74 miles and should take 7~8 hours with a stop at Sheep Bridge for lunch. We could meet at the dirt parking area on the southeast corner of N. Cave Creek Rd and Bartlett Dam Rd. which is northeast of Cave Creek.

On the way home we can stop at the Rock Springs Cafe (check out the menu) in Black Canyon City for dinner... great food and plenty of it!!

So, what does everyone think?? Are there any other ideas?? Let me know if your interested and I'll post it up as the club run for June.

A map of the three trails and a couple of pics of Sheep Bridge taken from Google Earth...

I am going to be out of town June 19-23
I had thought about leading a crown king camping trip but we've done that before. These trails sound cool. I could only go the weekend of 13-14th

Your dates are fine by me and whatever trail everyone wants to do is also okay. If we do Crown King camping which way were you planning on going, the back way or the washboard road?

Oh, and I didn't mean to jump the gun for the June run, but it's less than two months away. I thought we were going to post monthly runs three months in advance so folks could try to make plans to attend. Since nobody had posted, I just wanted to get things going.... it's also time to start thinking about July's run too. 8)

I like this new idea better. Let's go with that. If the date change is ok with everyone I'm in. Thanks for posting AJ!

Crown King is on the top of the mountains so it is cool. The trail up starts at lake pleasant so it is hot until you get higher up but we start early so it's not too bad

I like the Crown King idea :D Should have no problem getting the day off in June either as I won't be working on this darn project I'm doing.

Crown King sounds great - hopefully I can get the time off - if so it would be my first LOST gathering!

AJ, dude, I think you're looking at the wrong calendar. June 23 is a Tuesday.

We like the Sheep Bridge idea (we've done Crown King twice in two years), but put us down either way. Whatever date is decided.

I should be able to make this, I'll be gone the end of the month and the first half of July on vacation away form the Jeep so it will be groovy to use her one last time before I depart for 2-3 weeks.
