I would like to offer my knowledge to anyone who would like to get some advise/tips on how to inspect you oun rig to be sure its tail ready and safe to go out into the desert.
The Jeep "trail readyness" Class and trail ride will be held on:
WHEN: Sunday 6-28-09 STARTS: 7:00 AM sharp WHERE: Anthem, AZ Wal*Mart Parking Lot, North End
All jeep types and all makes and models of vehicles are welcome!
Trail options:
0.0-1.5 - Table Mesa, East Side (New River Canyon) or 1.5-2.5 - Back Way to Crown King
This is a Meet and Greet type of event where everyone would get together for a 1-2 hour question and answer session about Wheeling Do's and Dont's, tips, ideas, safety and vehicle readyness followed by a trail ride. Topics covered would include:
Pre-trip Vehicle Inspection Procedures
Proper Trail Gear
Mechanical tips for a quick fix in the field
Proper Trail etiquette
Flat Repair Procedure
Tire Change Procedure
Trail Safety
Basic Trail Driving Techniques
and much more...
This would be a class for informational and educational purposes, all are welcome from the beginner to the experienced and this will be an open discussion format.
If any of the club vet's or experts would like to Co-Host this that would be great! I welcome all help.
Following the class is a trail ride!
A little about me:
I have been working on automobiles for 20 years and professionaly in the Automotive Industry for 15 years, I have worked for 6 manufactures, including Chrysler for 4 years, I have done Body Repair, Automobile Technical Training, Mechanical Repair, Performance Modications and Performance Research and Design. I am ASE Certified, I have built many custom Automobiles from Sport Compact Race Cars to 4x4's, I have held 2 SCCA Pro Racing Licenses and raced both Autocross Solo-II, and sanctioned Road Racing. I have worked as a Service Advisor/Manager in the dealership and independant repair shop enviornment for 8 years.
