It's time for AZ LOST JEEPS.... "TRICK or JEEP ~ 2009" When: Oct 23~25th 2009 Where: Grapevine Group Site (Goose Loop)... Roosevelt Lake Trail Run: 0900 Chili Fest: Saturday Evening Price of Admission: A small homemade pot of chili and if you can, a bundle of fire wood for the campfire. If you can’t bring a pot of chili, please bring something else to share. What’s Trick or Jeep? It’s the AZ LOST JEEPS version of Halloween… a fun weekend of camping, wheeling and the best chili this side of the Rio Grande!! Did I say a fun weekend with some of the best people you’ll ever meet?? So bring what you’ll need for the weekend, a costume, dress up your Jeep and plan for a great time. The highlight of the weekend is the Chili Fest Saturday night. Everyone brings a pot of their homemade chili which will be added to a large community pot. Combining everyone’s different style of chili may not sound all that appetizing at first, but rest assured… it’s the best chili you’ll ever eat. Spicy, mild and bland recipes all come together for a taste that’s just right!! If for some reason you’re unable to bring a pot of chili, please bring something else to share with everyone. About the Campsite: Our campsite opens at 0900 on Friday, Oct 23rd. We have to be out by 0900 Sunday, Oct 25th for another group that's coming in after us. The Grapevine Group Site is run by the Tonto Basin Ranger District of the Tonto NF. It is a modern developed area. We have the 100 person “private and gated" Goose Loop reserved for our use only. It's a rather large area, so we will not be that close to other campers in the campground. Our area includes a large central ramada with electricity, water, tables, two large grills and a large fire ring. There are a a few other small ramadas scattered around our area with small fire rings, but without water or electricity. We have our own toilets and will not have to share them with other campers. There is one centrally located, shared shower facility for everyone using the Grapevine Group Site. The fee is $160.00 for two nights. The cost will be divided among those who are camping. If you'll only be attending the run and the Chili Fest on Saturday night, there will be no charge. Tonto Passes are not required, but I’ll have parking passes for everyone to display while they’re parked at the campground. Lodging: For those not camping and don't want to make the drive all the way from the Valley to our camp Saturday morning, there are several motels in Globe to pick from so you don't have to drive as far. Directions to Grapevine Group Site: (N33 38 22.75 W111 02 57.49) From Phoenix… take Hwy 87 towards Payson >> turn right on Hwy 188 >> go south 33 miles to Roosevelt Dam >> go another 7.5 miles and then turn left for the Grapevine Group Site between MM 236 and 237 >> go 2 miles and turn right at the camp ground entrance >> go to the stop sign and turn left >> follow the road which ends at the Goose Loop campsite. From Globe… take Hwy 188 west for 23 miles >> turn right for the Grapevine Group Site between MM 236 and 237 >> go 2 miles and turn right at the camp ground entrance >> go to the stop sign and turn left >> follow the road which ends at the Goose Loop campsite. Average Temp for Oct 23~25: High 84* Low 61* Who’s coming: (please indicate if you’ll be camping) AZKJ +1 (camping) Signcutter21 +1 (camping) oldhockeyvb Silverdiesel (camping) Neatus +1 (camping) Disbme (camping) Pablo (camping) Renstock (camping) M&P40 +1 (camping) Maybe: dynamike +1 (???) SNAFU, But of course, it's Halloween. lol. Seriously though, in the past, people have dressed up themselves and their jeeps. It's all a little bit of fun to make it more than just hanging out and wheeling. Come on up, you'll be surprised how well the chili will taste. mmmm. Add +1 (Katelynn) and I in as camping both nights. Later, mike |

I'll be there, probably not camping. Be staying at my RV spot down the road. There are also cabins and motel rooms at the Roosevelt Lake Resort just a few miles from the campground. Also a few motel rooms at the spring creek store a few miles from the campground |

Add me! Silverdiesel + 1 The Cherry Creek and Dupont Cabin runs are very, very doable with stock conditions. When I mean stock it is of course with AT tires and basic skids (the four majors: engine, transmission and fuel tank protection- Rails would be nice too!) I am at a meager 1" lift condition but stock is very close to what I am capable ! See you'all there!! This is the AZLOST semiannual event so this one needs to be marked on your calendars and is a must attend! Roland |

Oh yeah- I will be camping- this camp/recreation/meeting/partying place has got to be one of the best setups I have ever seen- from private toilets and ramadas to a spacious central area that allows us to be ourselves and enjoy our planned festivities! Roland |

Added you and your friend. Will you and your friend be camping both nights? I think I may also have a guest that may come. He's signed onto the board, but hasn't posted yet. Thanks, for asking. We don't need tables, chairs or lights, so bring whatever else you think we'll need. I believe Roland has napkins, plastic forks/spoons and some paper plates. I'm bringing small bowls for the chili and Vern is bringing his big pot and stove. Oh, we'll need some "Hold Harmless" forms for everyone to sign. |

Yeah... stupid filters. Will "both" your friends be camping? The more the merrier and it will lower the cost for all the campers, not to mention MORE chili for the pot!! Mmmmm good.... |
