Whidby! I used to be stationed at Whidby many moons ago. Had a many a meal at Nimitz Chow Hall. I was in MABS-46 Det "A" and it is long gone now. I don't think there is even a Marine Barracks still there. Not much to do on the Island...I'm still in Oregon. I'll be in Jefferson just north or Albany when you drive by on I-5. |

I don't plan on spending much time on the island. The Cascades are just too close... Portland ain't too far either, weekend runs sound good! |

Mike, The Cascades have been my playground for a long time. I am about an hour south of Portland. It takes about 3 to 4 hours depending on traffic to go from Seattle to Portland and the Seattle traffic will indeed grid lock mornings and afternoons. Whidby is a Ferry ride from Seattle or area ports. The big Island or Vancouver, B.C. is right there too. It's only a couple hour Ferry ride away and there are big cities, Nanamo or Victoria. If you like to fish, the San Juan Islands are close by and the fishing opportunities for Cod or Salmon would abound. The water through San Juans is mellow like a big lake... Enjoy your journey's in the Pacific Northwest. Landy |

Yeah, I'm real excited about getting up there, it's going to be a great summer! We're going to have to try to actually get some libbies together for some wheeling. Not sure what it is up there but this forum has been dead. |

Keep me in the loop on the orders, did you just apply?
