So I just bought my beautiful KJ from a dealer in Augusta, GA. The Jeep already has the L.O.S.T. KJ badge on the side as well as a "Trail-Rated 4x4" emblem.. This makes me think I bought someone's old jeep and it'd be cool to find the original owner. LET ME KNOW IF I BOUGHT YOUR JEEP! |

I gotta just quit being lazy and google the VIN or something Current goals are: -lights on roof rack (I have no idea how the wire anything like that) -Durable front bumper (ARB?), brush guard, and winch |

Doesn't look familiar, but that doesn't mean anything. Best bets are it was from out of state. You might want to go and troll through the LOST Trail-Rated Badge threads and figure out who got one. Each order was only something like 20-30 or such I think. |

Since it was purchased used, it doesn't necessarily mean the original owner was from GA. My bro-in-law is a used car dealer and he sells and purchses cars from all over the country. For example, he could have had that Jeep on trade in, drove it to a car auction in GA, and a car dealer from GA could have bought it. My bro-in-law's dealership is in MN, he travels to auctions in AZ, KS/MS, frequently to buy vehicles. If dealers have a vehicle sitting on their lot too long, they will try and either work out trade to another dealer or a sale, or send it to auction to get rid of it. I do recommend checking the vehicle for anything that may identify a name (if the dealers didn't removed everything). I'd say the car fax option is your best bet, but the trail rated badge post section is a good idea too. If you didn't do the carfax option when you bought it, go back to the dealer you bought it from and see if they'll still do it. Usually they'll do at least one for you. They usually have an unlimited number they can do in a month. That may not give a name, but it will at least indicate where the vehicle was previously registered. Then you could go the the LOST forum for that area and search around. Good luck with your new to you KJ! |
