Post subject:  minimizing my chevy inventory for a CRD from Montana

hey, getting rid of my 2008 cobalt SS turbo :( and an avalanche 2500 with an 8.1l. just trying to get it to where I don't have to play musical cars to use my garage. I'd love to keep the cobalt (300whp and 320 wtq) but I park it for the winter, and I'm just tired of making payments on a vehicle I only get to drive 4 months out of the year. So my middle ground between the two is the liberty CRD. Found one with 90k on it for $10k it's out of Salmon, ID. I called the dodge dealer and they had the EGR was replaced, ball joints, torque converter, and the TCM update performed under warranty/recalls. I've worked on my fair share of engines so I'll plan to do the timing belt myself. Anything else I should be aware of? anybody familiar with this particular vehicle? Either way just wanted to say hello, and see if any other members here are from montana?

thanks!

Welcome to LOST. Drop in on the "CRD. . . Love that torque" section and introduce yourself as well. I think another member recently drove from Oregon to check out that same CRD and they thought it was a beater. There's a lot of info there about what to look for.

hmm I did some looking and found this thread but that one has less miles on it and they are asking more for it. Am I not finding it? hope its not the same one...

May be a different one - I just remembered that member posting about it and figured it was too much of a coincidence to overlook. Maybe it's a nice one, heck. Check out this sticky thread about common things to inquire about: EGR, Boost hoses, etc. . . viewtopic.php?f=5&t=50930

Gonna hope its a differant one. The guy is bringing it over next week for me to test drive. They said they had to replace a glow plug in it.

Welcome! ...but trading two Chevys for a Jeep, I'm disappointed.... :jester:
I'm glad the wife drives our Libby, not me. Good luck on the possible purchase.

Ok, you've redeemed yourself with that statement  I always wanted to do a V8 swap in my old S10
