Hi everyone and thanks for the great info I've gleaned from this forum. Bought an 06 about 10 months ago with a bad engine. Did an engine swap and have used it all summer and fall to tow the camper and now snowmobile trailer. Live up in the northeast (nh,ma) border, and finally getting around to joining your group. I look forward to hitting you all up on some mechanical issues as well as mods. Thanks again, Cj.

Well, as best we could tell something in the top end "went" in the number one cylinder. The head of the intake valve separated and punched through the sleeve, bending that connecting rod. The timing belt was intact and seemed fine. Don't know if the valve was the cause or the effect. No other big pieces unaccounted for. So... Any guesses, any similarities to others? In any case I do have a good block, crank etc. If any one needs.

Was the glow plug still in one piece?

(Darby's 06 was almost new when it died - they never were sure if the glow plug went first - although I think that was what they put on the Warranty report)

As a matter of fact the glow plug was broken. At the time I didn't think much of it since it wasn't the the biggest broken piece. But after reading here that it may be a weak link, maybe that was the first point of failure. Hmmm.
