Hello folks, Owned a Wagoneer back in the early 70's, a Cherokee in the late 70's, a '92 Cherokee for a number of years, and now have purchased my first diesel jeep: a 2006 Liberty. Have to pick it up in NC and drive it back across the country in a couple weeks. Anything to look forward to or watch out for? Anyone tried converting one of these to biodiesel? Kelly |

Welcome............ Don't confuse Vegitable Oil(VO) or Waste Vegetable Oil(WVO) with biodiesel. Biodiesel is the ultimate flexible fuel, so you can switch back and forth between biodiesel and petroleum diesel whenever or however you want. The only caution is biodiesel acts as a lubricant and a solvent so if the CRD ran only on straight petroleum diesel (dino diesel) for an extended time (a year or more) then the walls of your fuel tank may have accumulated some sediments and you might want to think about checking or changing your fuel filter after switching to a high concentration of biodiesel. There is info and users of biodiesel in this forum and here is a link to one of many sites on biodiesel: http://journeytoforever.org |
