Hello all! David here from Huntsville, AL. I just bought my first Jeep, and I'm already teeming with pride. My previous vehicle was a 1998 Dodge Dakota Sport, and it was crushed under a tree from a storm we had here (not the tornado outbreak you may have seen in the news - this happened a week earlier). I upgraded to a black 2008 Jeep Liberty Sport, and I'm absolutely in love with it. I have some planned mods I'd like to make to it, but in being new to Jeeps, I'm also new to modifying vehicles. Anyways, I've been looking through these forums for several days now, and I'm loving the enthusiasm and information found here! Glad to be a member here!
I'm also a huge Daft Punk fan and prop builder. I got a custom tag for it that reads DAFTPNK, since it kind of goes with their black leather look.
This Liberty has the Sky Slider roof on it, so it doesn't have proper roof rails on it. I have a kayak, and that's pretty much the only thing I'd need to haul on it. I'm considering getting some of those Rocky Road roof rails for it so I can put some cross bars on it. I've seen all the safety concerns regarding it, but I've also seen a lot of Liberties with the Sky Slider roof that use this same system. Considering that the kayak isn't very heavy and since that would be the only thing I'd haul on the roof rack, I think that'll be among my first mods to it.
I'd also like to black out the headlight housings (found this forum from the wonderful tutorial posted by DetroitKK, in fact), and add a matte black hood decal. Then perhaps some nerf bars.
