Welcome to LOST! Be sure to check out the Northeast section of the forum. There's quite a few New Yorker's, most are from LI but I know of at least one from Rochester.

Yes, Welcome  You need a Jeep to get around in Buffalo in the winter. We are from the Southern Tier, NY area.
