Just thought I'd stop in and say Hi. Hopefully you will be seeing a lot of me here :)

I have a 2002 Jeep Liberty Sport which is virtually all stock (except from the audio system), but that will change soon! Now I have never been "formally" off-roading (is there such a thing as formal off-roading?!? lol) but both me and my dad (he owns a 2010 Toyota FJ Cruiser) are really interested in starting. So any suggestions, tips, and criticisms would be great!

HellO
and welcome to LOST
Lots of great information on here
If you're wanting to learn what and how to 4 wheel then maybe hook up with some local folks and tag along with them. Don't know where you are but look through the state areas for where you are
Plus you'll need tow hooks, skids ires and the list goes on and on

Thanks! I was planning on finding a local group, but I haven't been able to find many in the Cincinnati area yet... And yes i already have a wish list a mile long, but for now I need to focus on the necessities.

Welcome and if only you were closer could take you on some local trails to let you get a feel for the Jeep just like i did not long after getting mine. And First thing on my list would be Skid plates even mopars will do but a good set of skids will save from alot of headaches later on. And tow hooks are a cheap and easy lifesaver there are a few do it yourself options on here to save you some money. But it does require alittle fab work and a few holes but the jeep isn't really yours till you drill the first hole in it.

Thanks, and I do believe that i need to get some good tow hooks in first since these Ohio winters can be brutal, and i need to flush my tranny fluid too. Then ill look for some skid plates. And i've already decided on an OME 2'' or 3'' lift (I may buy it piece by piece, but my stock shocks and springs are sagging and every time i go over a little bump i chip a tooth...) after i do some trial off roading.
dang-it this hobby is gona get expensive FAST!

Wellsville is a long ways from you, up near Youngstown so clear across the state. Where you're at there are quite a few like Dirty Turtle and Big Rock at Maysville KY that would be close by
Also JeepSkool is shut down according to reports I have. The land owner may open it back up but right now not sure
Tahoe, is nearby along with 1996XJ, Towstrap and a few more up in the Dayton area

thanks!
Before i do any more offroading, i need to get some recovery points on my jeep. I was stupid to venture out on the trail without them before  I'm hoping to get that done soon so i can have some fun when it snows

then skid plates
then sliders
then a lift
then a roof rack
then lights
SAVE ME!!! :-)r

Actually jeepskool never skipped a beat its now called southington offroad park. I have been a jeepskool member since they opened and rarely miss an outing. The guy who ran it,Kelly. Had some......lets say family problems and had to get out but a close friend has taken it over. Very nice off road park with very considerate and professional staff. They just had their December outing which I missed but will be at. January outing. They have everything from stocker trails to hardcore so you'll have fun no matter what. But wellsville is a different story, ride at your own risk and they have no rules so be ready for drunken wheelers being idiots. :JEEPIN:
