Any members in the Indianapolis area? Just moved here from Jacksonville,Fl i was stationed. never been good with navigating forums Im sure theres a way to find out if there are members in my area but not sure how. Any thoughts on purchasing a 2003 liberty it has 60,000 miles but seemed to have a slight groaning noise when I took it for a test drive. getting it inspected by a mechanic though before i even think of buying. Any thoughts on what i should pay i took the average from the 3 big name websites and came to an average of about $8,400.00 seller wants $9,995.00 i would be paying in cash also if that helps decision i just dont want to low ball. Thanks for any help.

Welcome! There are local groups in Indianapolis here viewforum.php?f=139 for you to check out. :)

As to the grinding noise, I have a 02 liby that i bought with about 60,000 miles and it had a slight grinding noise... turned out to be a bad wheel bearing.

As to cost, if your shop finds something that needs fixed, use it to negotiate your price, but i still payed 8999 for mine after much arguing with the salesman...

Good luck!

It depends on what it is. I can do brakes and rotors and there is always you tube :P . Im sure i can find a local member or friend to help me for a 12 pack or more :D . My main concern is the price. do you think $9,000 is a fair price for a loaded limited liberty even with the needed repairs.

Welcome

Always try to haggle with the seller to get the price down....
