Just bought myself a 2005 CRD Turbo and already loving it! Living on Whidbey Island, WA and, since Island County doesn't require emissions testing... I've been scouring all the forums, seems like there are a few things I should do to increase the longevity of my CRD. Here are my plans:

1. Do the standard "new vehicle" maintenance (e.g. fluids, filters, etc)
2. Replace the stock exhaust with a 3" magnaflow
3. Install a ProVent or do the EHM fix
4. Probably going to modify my air filter to get a better air intake
5. Either unplug the MAF sesnor or, if I can afford it...
6. Get a GDE Tune (anyone have feedback on this one? Is it worth the money?)

Of course, I need to get floor mats and seat covers, since it was previously used briefly as a "work rig" and is a little dirty (nothing a steam cleaning and covers can't fix).

Overall, I'm loving the Jeep! I've wanted one since I was a kid, and while this isn't the wrangler I might have wanted, it's a diesel and a Jeep so I'm happy!

Welcome! I used to live up on Whidbey, right outside the base. I'll give you the advice that's given to all new CRD owners...read the Noob Guide. Just type "Sir Sam's Noob Guide" into :google:

Oh yea, been all over the noob guide and trying to decide what to do first, what can wait, and so forth....

I live on the South End of the Island, though we lived in Central Whidbey for a bit when we first moved from Seattle.
