Hey now i'm from the southshore of Montreal, had my Liberty for 3 years next July, bought it used with 99,900 Km on it at the time, bought a 3 year warranty that will be ending in July. The day that i bought it, the engine light went on, so brought it back, they changed the turbo on it(free of charge)it now has 140,000 Kms on it, i changed the fuel filter last year, the 4 brake disks last week. i change the oil twice a year with mobil full synthetic 5w-40 for turbo diesel engines.

Question, should i go see my dealer to check everything before the warranty is finished? or he will start changing things that are not under warranty for nothing.

Other question: should i use 2 stroke oil in my diesel fuel?

Martin

If it were me, I'd have them do a full inspection. Anything they find could be covered by warrant and they make money no matter if your paying the bill or the warranty pays the bill. You always run the risk that they will try to upsell you something you don't need. When that happens, ask questions, have them show you the problem, don't just take thier word for it. If it still sounds fishy, defer the work and take it to an independent mechanic for a second oppinion.

As far as 2 stroke oil, I don't think it will hurt, but don't think it helps that much either. The link below is a pretty good, non-scientific study of fuel additives.
