Welcome! The short answer is "it depends". What's important to you and what do you want your jeep to be? That's where to start. Dan Sent from my subdural android implant using Tapatalk 2 |

Hi guys thanks for the great introduction, ive got the jeep for towing the girlfirends horsebox (I know!) I was looking round at differents 4x4's for about a year and kept coming back to the cherokee/libby. I'm looking to add a couple of light mods to generally improve it, thinking better cooling possibly remap for ecu to give it some more oooph ha ha, I'm open to suggestions? |

Hi Tommy, nothing wrong with using the Jeep to tow girlfriends horse box... I use mine to tow a Caravan for the Holidays when i am not trying to go offroading... What are you looking for as light mods for the KJ? performance Chip if you want a quick boost, i bought a Chip box off Ebay for £70.00 and it improved performance quite a bit and smoothed out bumps and holes I had. If you want the link let me know. Fil. |

Hi been away for abit, im currently running a pro-bitz tuning box and it seems to be doing a great job of surprising other motorists lol! it's also boosted my economy to 32.2 mpg which u gotta say is not bad going for a 2ton jeep! |

Hi, Just back myself ( two weeks on holiday round France with KJ & caravan), i am impressed that you Chipbox is actually returning you 32 mpg, the best I am getting is around 22 mpg at best! Yes i do run taller tyres and a 3 inc lift but still the difference is huge. Any chance of details please and what it cost you? PS: I know know why you thing you are getting 32mpg, your trip computer is showing you US gallons not Imperial gallons, so if you convert over 32 US mpg equate to 26 mpg Imperial, still better then mine how was showing around 28 US mpg or 23.5 mpg imperial. Hey UK! If you are anything like me my KJ upgrades are low dollar. So just thinking out loud; I would paint rims, get chrome lugs, horns and a cool cowboy bumper sticker. You could also go country, if you aren't already. Get a straw cowboy hat, belt buckle, an iron and maybe even boots. But hey, I do all those things already! I don't have much use for hay-burners. I love everything else that goes along with being country. The atitude, hard work, the honesty and loving the Lord. I think you could really have a lot of fun with this! Sheffield "over the pond" is known mainly for there fine cutlery. More specifically the Fairbairn and Sykes, look it up if you didn't already know. Remember; Americans can always be counted on to do the right thing... after they have exhausted all other possibilities. -Winston Churchill- There is more where that come from, just ask! I'm excited for you. Send pics and let me know how it goes! Dave from Michigan. |

Howdy Tommy - Welcome to LOST uuummmhh - I would only get a Hat - if you need a Hat, and boots if you need boots..... wouldn't recommend them as a general purchase.... the key to 'improve my kj???' - is what do you plant to do with your KJ? do you need it for reliable daily transportation? Weekend play? occasionally towing a trailer? think though what you want to do - and then search on that and you'll find ideas from other folks who have tried that ask they why they did it that way?, how does it work? and if they did it again - would they do the same thing? Pick what you think will work for you. |

hi all, i know what u mean by the mpg reading but i worked it out in uk mpg and there wasn't much difference?? maybe im just lucky ha ha. im looking at getting my alloys refurbished in a dark grey. im gonna try and by-pass the egr valve this weekend so see how that goes. as for the "chip-box" mine was just off ebay, its a pro-bitz tuning box u can gogle it and see for yourself. also in my last mot i was informed that my towbar electrics for the lights etc are opposite so the left does right as vice-versa. but when ive got the horsebox on they work fine??? any ideas?? |

Tommy, I had the same issue. I bought the KJ with the tow bar on but didn't need it, then bought a caravan so had it checked and additiona socket fitted for the fidge electrics and then they told me it had been wired up wrongly!!! as the where there they fixed it and all works well now, I guess eighter someone doesn't know how to fit it correctly or the instructions given from Jeep to wire up must confouse people. Interesting what you say about MPG consumption, keep us posted if you manage to keep the same level. I surely can't and I have now put over 4K mls since i fitted the Chip Box. PS did you get my email/PM about Jeep Jamboree in Tong ( Bradford) next Weekend? Fil. |
