I've recently begun doing my own work on this car, and wish that I knew the dealer wasn't telling me everything... Oh well. buckling up to start going through everything myself. Changed the serpentine belt, alternator, and one idler two weeks ago when a noise started. Odd damage on the idler like a rock went through, and the alternator was bent. That now looks good. Odd ticking sound if you step in it, and low level knock. Still isolating on those. Found the turbo bearings shot, it is off and looking at a replacement. Concerned about the low knock sound, but unheard in the engine block with a mechanics stethoscope. I ordered a doctor's stethoscope to try to listen for leaks. Work in progress. I've replaced the Inlet hose to the turbo and both of the turbo to engine hoses with Samcos. Building my own plugs to leak detect the coolant system and the turbo air system. I have the new fuel filter water separator housing and filter sitting on the bench. I hope to have it in this weekend. Thanks for the nube guide. Oh, so much still to do...

I bought it new, spent a lot of money to get things fixed, but the gremlins keep coming back. I'm researching what it takes to fix it right, and I'm doing it myself. One of the perks of finally buying a house with a garage. It looks like a long road to go at this end, but one or two steps at a time will do it...
