New to the board, looking for advice on some fixes for my '08 as well as looking to learn if there are more places in NJ that you can do moderate (no winch needed) offroading. First Jeep was a 87 cherokee with the 4.0L pre chrysler motor that lived 300,000 great miles, and helped my father restore a 79 CJ7 with the V-8/3-speed combo. |

Welcome to LOST. I'm also a former XJ owner who is now in an '08 KK. There are a bunch of folks going on a moderate wheeling trip in the NJ Pine Barrens on March 23rd. Stock Jeeps will be fine on this trip, and others will have tow straps in the event they are needed. Here is the NJ Meet 'n' Greet thread: http://www.lostjeeps.com/forum/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=73833 And continued over on JeepKJCountry: http://www.jeepkj.com/forum/f249/anyone-want-do-meet-greet-52941/ |

Post up your questions and issues with your '08 over in the KK section, and we'll see what we can do. |

Biggest thing is that I hooked the Right front corner when backing out of a spot like a tool. Before I get too deep into whether or not to go through insurance and get killed on my premiums or pay his damages and fix it myself. Knowing if there are affordable replacement options would help make the decision easier. Really just wondering if the make replacement flares and a bumper without dropping 3K. I will def check into that other stuff too. Have always heard of the Pine Barrens for wheeling but have never done anything but hiking and canoeing. Didn't have anyone to show me around and heard there were spots where easy goes to in a flash. Don't have a winch or reliable partner so I erred on the side of caution.

I did my best to answer your question over in the KK tech section and give you a few links that could help you do the job yourself. You'll probably get some other opinions as well. Hope it works out where you can DIY and save on insurance.
