I have owned our 2006 Liberty CRD since I bought it new, I say ours as I had bought it for the wife, I have come to enjoy driving it, I have owned many diesel trucks but the little Liberty is a unique 4x4 that is fun to drive. However it has developed a very serious mechanical issue that may be the death of it, It has a cracked engine block! Not sure why this has happened but I have it in my shop about to pull the engine out to take a look to see if it could be repaired.

Hello dntlkbak,
I am sorry to ear about your engine.
I have some experience with diesel engines. I have just re-built the 2.8 lt turbo diesel engine of my Liberty kk.
Happy to share with you the info I had put together, and several contacts in Italy for info and spare parts.
Good luck from Chile !!
