So I am going to be getting my dad's liberty as my first car and I would like to make it SFA. So what is a list of things I need to do if I want to keep the stock rear axle and make it SFA? Oh and the jeep is long_tall_texan's

Wasn't your dads KJ 2wd? I think I'd look funny being no front drive shaft.......

Why yes. Yes it is mine. And it is still mine until he turns 16 in January. He wants to do an SFA and 4WD conversion to it. Going to be a long term project. But I told him to join here and start looking into what he will need so we can start building the parts pile. I'm planning to get myself a Rubicon JK Unlimited when I pass my beloved KJ down to him.

So what are your suggestions for budget conscious, yet reliable and fully capable SFA conversion?

What XFer case?

What front axles are same width as existing KJ rear axle? Going to stick with the stock rear axle initially. It already has 4.10 gears. May need to go lower than that though depending on tire size he ends up with.
