Hey everyone, I'm Adam and just replaced my 2001 Silverado 1500 Z71 with a 2008 kk. I hope I can do everything I did with my truck with my new Jeep. I have a few questions on towing and was hoping to get some answers.

My new Jeep has the factory towing package and I have 16 foot aluminum boat with a 50 horse motor, and a 1972 16' Nomad travel trailer. Hoping someone knows if I will be ok to tow these with or without a problem. Thanks alot in advance for any answers!

What's the weight? Do you have an equalizer hitch?

Hello, Newb here also :)
Someone correct me If I'm wrong, but 2008-2012 KK has 5000lbs towing capacity.
(I used to tow a 20ft wellcarft with my Ram 1500)
You prob already know this, but you got to add the weight of the boat, plus the motor, extra gear etc.
and the weight of the trailer to make sure it does not exceed the tow rating.

I am unsure of the weight of either, with my truck never thought twice about it. I don't have wd hitch or trailer brakes. Hoping I won't need either for the boat. My camper on the other hand I am a little worried about. I can't find the weight for it on the camper itself or online.

Your truck had a much longer wheel base. Wider too. Some where on the trailer there Should be a tag. It might have dry / wet weight.
Now I'm from 1 ton and 3/4 4 wheel drive trucks. I like my KK but realized I wasn't buying a tow vehicle. It has done what I needed, but I have different expectations of it.

^^^^ I agree. There must be a tag somewhere.
What about on the insurance/registration for it?

Your best bet is to google search boat forums and ask around if anyone has a similar boat/trailer setup.
Also, sometimes a trip to the local boat yard (look for similar trailer etc) might help. Just my suggestion :)

Doubt that the boat out weight the travel trailer.

I was hoping some one would have a vague idea about the campers weight. I am guessing it will be too heavy without trailer brakes or we hitch.

Even if it wasn't with the short wheel base of the KK I'd use the weight dist hitch.
