Hello everyone,

I registered here because I'm shopping for a diesel Liberty. I'm new to Libertys, but not to diesels--I've owned a (now heavily modified) 2000 VW Golf GLS TDI, and been a member of http://www.tdiclub.com since 2000. I'm looking for a fuel efficient vehicle that I can use (1) as a daily driver, and (2) to get to remote trailheads and campsites and for general off-pavement exploring. I've considered a lot of alternatives, but they either have unacceptable (to me) fuel economy or are not as capable off road as I would like. I have a hiking buddy who has a Liberty, and it seems to come as close to the "sweet spot" as you can get without doing a diesel engine swap.

My next step will be to do some searches for what to look for when shopping for a liberty, but any links or advice members choose to post here would be much appreciated.

If your willing to travel to get one, you should find one fairly easy.
