Another interloper from the UK about to descend on you all!

I've owned a Daihatsu Fourtrak for the last 13 years, it's been completely mechanically faultless, always started and I've just sold it to buy a KJ :dizzy: In truth the Daihatsu is starting to get a bit tender underneath so we've moved it on before it gets to the stage that it costs more than it's worth. The chap that has bought it is a metal fabricator so he's happy to get in amongst it. I'm still somewhat nervous that I've done the right thing, but what's the worst that can happen? Apart from my wife reminding me every day of what a nob I've been if it all goes belly up!

We searched for a long time to find something that had a similar towing capacity, has a 4wd system that actually does the job and wasn't the size of a small iceberg. So we are now the 'proud' (time will tell) owner of a 2004 2.8 crd Sport KJ.

I bid a very fond farewell to Deidre the Daihatsu…

….and welcome Janet the funbus to the family

First jobs are horse, donkey, chicken and dog proofing the interior and possibly a new thermostat as it's running a bit cool.

And just to finish with a bit of British whinging, why are there so many variations of names for these darn things? Over here they are Cherokee's so when buying parts you end up with everyone assuming you mean Grand Cherokee, and then you guys decide to call them KJ or Liberty :banghead:

and if you put a horse or a donkey in there... post Photo's

dogs have already been done..
and I don't think chickens spark a lot on interest..

but a Horse or Donkey - that would be unique.

Welcome.
Yes, you always have to be careful when getting parts for these Jeeps, especially since yours is a diesel.
I always thought it was funny the names for Jeeps, TJ, KJ, KK, etc. The best one is for the newer Wranglers, JK. Our Libs would get even more hate if ours was called a JK. I can here the jokes now just thinking about it.

Great link to the crd info. I've done quite a lot of work on different cars we've had so that link gives me a great starting point to get it running as well as possible.

I've got the thermostat to fit, rear parking sensors and I'm hitting a breakers (junk yard?) to get a couple of bits of trim and some mudguards. The back is now fully animal friendly, the horse won't fit but the miniature donkey just might  I spent Saturday swearing a lot whilst fitting spotlights and my OCD rattle problem is almost under control, there's just one more thing that sounds like it's coming from behind the glove box to track down :banghead:
