G'day everyone, My name is Ed and I reside in Tasmania... We have bought an 06 KJ CRD Limited just about a week ago, in Dark Khaki Metallic, i will be attempting a timing belt change soon, as it was purchased with only 99,904 kilometers on the odometer... I have been doing some research on these vehicles, and it seems you guys have some great info, so thanks heaps for that !! I'll be doing some more reading and learning the best way to maintain our new Jeep, so as to get the best out of her... Cheers Ed

I'm hoping everything goes well too.. being a small engine mechanic by trade, timing belts are something i'm not familiar with, but i will be arming myself with all the knowledge and tools needed to accomplish a good result... We still have our OBD11 XJ Limited so the KJ can take as long as is needed to do everything i plan on doing... Timing belt and waterpump, 4 new Etecno glow plugs(faulty #3), fuel filter and maybe even a turbo rebuild kit while everything is apart... Just purchased from I.D. Parts last night: Timing belt kit, Samco hoses, 3 Mopar oil filters. I bought locally 20 litres of Caterpillar 0w 40 synthetic oil, compareable with the Mobil 1- 5w 40 synthetic |
