Hello Lost! ^_^

Just won a '06 CRD liberty from an auction and it should be delivered on friday. Has 118k miles.
Not really sure what to do first.... have read through the noob guide but do need to reread it a couple times, poor memory.

I do have a few questions though...
Are cheater chips and premade ecu flashes the only real tuning options?
Is there anything like a cobb acsess port or haltech\aem\ what ever stand alone?

Are there any other turbo upgrades other then GDE? Is welding really necessary?

What's the best torque converter?

Lastly, what are the towing limits?

Thanks in advance! :D

1st - change the timing belt.

Squeeto and Yeti have been working on DIY tuning

Diesel guy's been working on Turbos

welding is generally the best easiest option - may not be the only option.

the KJ chassis is rated at 5000lb towing - engine power is not the limiting factor

Woot! :pepper:

Thanks for the fast reply!

I know I have to deal with the timing belt as I have no clue if it's been addressed as it should have been since its from an auction, I have doubts... that and the torque converter (2nd) are the first things I'm looking into... Having a hard time figuring out which is best, suncoast or euro. Keep finding lots of posts saying both are best with out much explanation. Every one seems happy with the newest suncoast tc that bought one... either way will probably wait for shutter or tell I need to tow a lot.

Is three anything else in the drive line that needs to be worried about? Seems like everything is ok if tc is replaced in a timely manner after shudder starts up.

Been reeding the diy tuning thread a lil all ready. Super cool! Looks a bit intimidating / scary to try and learn to use compared to like haltech.

Thanks a lot for that second thread!

Id rather use a bolt on adapter piece(flange?).

Thanks again! :pepper:

I'm going to have to do more reading and try to stay focused on what to focus on having done while a mech is looking at that timing belt. :)
