CB Antenna Mounting

I was skeptical about that mount, too, because the price isn't mentioned on the website. At only $20, it's a pretty good deal.

I can't tell from the pics, does the mount attach to the body panel, or does it wrap around inside the tailgate opening? Since its on the corner, have you had any problems with branches winding up between the antenna and the body?

My digital camera takes horrible pics. Anyone interested in a digital camera?

the mount attaches inside the tailgate opening, so there's not any visible holes or anything. I've only had it on for about 2 weeks and haven't been off-road with it yet, so I haven't had any branches between it and the body. But, FreedomKJ has the same setup, so he might be able to better answer that question.

This my be the mount (or something like it) that KJTX has on his Liberty: http://www.firestik.com/Catalog/MK-204R.htm.

I'm thinking about a similar set-up, but will probably just wait until Kilby gets some more of the spare tire mounts...no time for wrenching on my Jeeps right now anyway.

That is the exact mount I have. And it will go on either side: the part the antenna connects to is held on my 2 screws (which also allow it to swivel 180 degrees) that can be taken off and the mount flipped.

Hammer- I do have some pics of the mount pn the Jeep, but they look worse than the others. I'll try and get some good ones this weekend.

Not sure on the price, but if you go to kilby.com or call them up and request the kj antenna mount you should be fine. (last I heard it wasn't on their web site but they do have it)

Been over a year and still a great, easy, handy mount.

Has anyone tried running a roof/magnet mount antenna, and routing the cable inside through the 3rd brake light? Do you think the 3rd brake light would develop a leak if I ran the coax through there to get inside the Jeep??

I've run a magnetic roof-mount and routed the cable through the front door. It was surprisingly easy to do with the weather stripping, didn't cause any problems.

Here's how I mounted my antenna. Same one KJTX used. mk-204r from firestik.
