Update
I managed to find the elusive "brake wire" behind a white plastic cover. Then I worked on running wire to ground & the battery and with the help of a DMM found a "brake" signal line.

Last night I picked up a 16x8 flat bed trailer to haul my YJ about. Hurray, no more renting those shabby U-Haul vehicle trailers. The brake controller works well with the trailer but I think I need one of those weight distributing trailer hitches.
