It's from an 04 GC. So far everything seems to be working (except for the temp-which I knew wouldn't). I followed the evic install in the tech section. The wires were different colors then listed in the tech section but it's all the same. The light clips do not match. I guess other guys have just taken it out of the dome light but I don't see how mine could...it's all part of the light. So I just cut the wires and matched up. I do not have clips that the dome light attaches to. It clips onto the headliner. I had to order part number 5072348AA. Pic of it here http://www.jeepkj.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=319&postdays=0&postorder=asc&highlight=evic&start=15&sid=f1138a36c5268bdb993550300e85ff69.

This part fits onto the inside of the roof and the headliner squeezes between this and the evic. Make sure you cut too little vs. too much when cutting the headliner. The plastic holder has two places that say "glue here". I just used 3M heavy duty outdoor 2x sided tape. The on the part of the roof closest to windshield I threw in a self tapping screw to secure it even more.

The hardest part about the install was getting over the fear of cutting the headliner and putting the sun visors back---not really hard but when you want to get them in when you really want to play with the evic...aaarrrgghh. Then your arms get tired from trying to line the screw up while holding the visor...

I took my time about 2 hours...I did feel as if I took my time and layed things out and trying to rush...this was hard because I have no patience. What I did last night was make my wire extension. This was just 4 wires 15 ft long with different colored tape so I could tell which was which when tapping into the wires under the dash. I then taped them together to form one wire.

So far so good...I'll keep my fingers crossed!

Here's what it looks like Image
I should've taken pics during the install. If anyone wants pics of wiring or what colors I tapped into...let me know. I'll have to pull some stuff apart for this so give me a bit if you do. Seriously, If I can do this, anyone can! Thanks.
