Does anyone have a set of diagrams/directions for installing the UConnect that has the big speaker box with it?

I was on the <www.wjjeep> site and found the install for a GC but can't figure it out for a KJ.

Anyone that has installed it previously, can you help me out?


BTW , will this work with my stock RBK radio?

I think the UConnect you're looking at will work with any radio, as its only interaction with the radio is through the mute control. It doesn't put anything on the radio display or through the radio speakers. Rather, it's voice controlled with a small control pad and has its own speaker and microphone. I'd give it 1 out of 4 wrenches because it's a Mopar product, comes with a manual, comes as a kit, and doesn't require any splicing/soldering. It seams the only modification necessary is a small notch next to the control pad and microphone for wires and two underdash mounting holes for the speaker.

Does that mean taking the A-arm is the hardest thing?

What about the headliner? Can I just slip in the wires for the mic that go from the A-arm to the dome lights without taking it off?

Which part are you referring to as the a-arm? If you're referring to the a-pillar trim piece, it is very easy to remove. Just remove the grab handle with a narrow hex driver and the whole panel can then be popped off. You should be able to feed the wires under the headliner and out the edge of the dome light bezel without cutting anything. This is what I did with my last hands free install and it actually looked pretty good.

That's the piece I meant. I think the hardest part I figure to be would be the microphone end. How do I get that in...by pulling the dome light OFF?

I'm pretty sure that the dome light just snaps off but you might want to ask someone who has done an EVIC (overhead computer) install.
