Has anyone installed the UConnect both with or without the mirror. Our hands free law is kicking in soon so I am considering options other than looking like The Borg.

Our Power Wagon has the mirror controlled UConnect. It works well and I like the look and feel of the factory integration.

Is it possible to add the mirror integration after the fact?

It should be possible to add the mirror. I'm pretty sure it just plugs into the CD changer port on the factory radio. You'll need to buy a Mopar Multiplex Splitter if you already have the CD changer.

Hey Cowcatcher...

You making any progress on this project? I am thinking about putting this in both of our cars (06 Liberty Limited CRD & 04 Durango Limited HEMI). I've read through most of the the threads I can find and I haven't found the part numbers for the Liberty. Looks like the parts from the thread you posted above will fit my Durango though.

No I am not. I am thinking that StarTrek and a new phone is easier. I was hoping someone had already done it and could reassure me that it was simple. Looks like it isn't simple or cheap though to the new phone and blue tooth headset may be a better solution.

After purchasing several headsets and looking like a total geek, I think the investment in the vehicle is well worth it. I'm always forgetting to charge my headset or it's in my bag, or some other reason that it is inaccessible.

I have looked into the Parrot line as well, but I prefer the integrated factory install. My bet would be that the parts are the same accross the lines of Chrysler products. I may just buy the Dodge stuff and try it in the KJ as well.

http://www.moparsupercenter.com will have a complete kit for the PCI based cars (which the Liberty is one of) that has the mirror, telematics module, and required harness in a couple of weeks. They alreay have the CAN bus kit that I ordered for my Durango.

The telematics module and harness is different for the Liberty.

It wasn't cheap...about $550 for my Durango. But I looked into a Parrot CK3200 with installation at a local Car Toys and that was $450 installed. I think it is worth the extra $100 and a few hours for the factory install.
