| Post subject: | Dash mount and headunit |
I recently purchased a Alpine CDA-9856, and the Metra Dash Mount kit. I was wondering how you get the headunit to be flush mounted, when I put the head unit in the bracket it sides recessed back from the face of the mounting bracket. I would like it stick out just abit, or flush with the bracket. If anyone can help me out with some tips or tricks, it would be appreciated! |

In the liberty its a cage mounted headunit. The tabs that you bend to have the cage attached to the dashkit you could try bending a different set of tabs that would have the front of the cage stick out a weeee bit. |

Got it in, and got it flush.. Just bent ever possible tab possible and ever combination of tabs possible untill I got the look I was going for. Head unit makes a major difference in the sound, even with the stock speakers. Havent had time to get the Rockford speakers and Amp in yet. |

Sorry it took awhile for the pictures, I was at work all weekend and our internet is down there. Hope this works, first time posting pictures on here.
Cant believe how easy the install was, once I got it in the mounting plate properly the way I wanted it. |
