It's such a small change, I think it would not hurt. It honestly takes all of 5 minutes to pull the pillar covers off and pop the dash bezel. The hardest part is using the darned right angle phillips driver to pull out two screws from each speaker. There is probably a three inch wide round socket for the speaker.
The only difference is, you would be replacing a 2" paper cone speaker with a piezo tweeter or something. I really don't know what frequency the Infinity dash speakers are crossed at, but since it is a speaker, it may be crossed too low for an actual "tweeter". You may put too much low frequency to the aftermarkets.
I used these as replacements with an amp and they sound awesome. Plus, you can buy a second set of midbasses and run them off the same crossover with a 3db gain.
