I just installed the factory EVS I alarm system. everything works great, except I can't get it to disarm. I have to use the override button everytime I enter the vehicle. The installation manual says the disarm wire is the tan with light blue stripe coming out of the driver's side door jam. Can anybody confirm or deny this? According to the manual there is suppose to be 12V at this wire when the unlock button is pressed. I can only see a small rise in voltage with my meter but i think it may be because the switching occurs too fast for my meter to read the full 12V.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

is the EVS 1 just a shock sensor? How many wires are required to connect it up? What year is your jeep? I did some research on www.the12volt.com it is showing on the 06 that the disarm wire is the same as the unlock wire (which is tan/blue), but it shows it a negative trigger through a 470 ohm resistor. Also on 04 is shows a lt. green/orange wire, but again as a negative through a 470 ohm resistor. In either case a relay would be necessary. Also, in each of the instances you would not be able use a DMM to tell you anything about if you have the correct wire.

But the reason I asked all the questions at the beginning is that if it is just a shock sensor, I am having trouble understanding what it has to do with disarming the alarm. Can you post the diagram the the EVS came with? That would really help a lot.

The alarm is also connected to the door circuit. There are six wires that must be spliced in, the rest of the harness uses factory connectors. I have a 2006 sport crd. I also looked at the12volt and unfortunately the disarm wire needs a +12V from the Driver's Door Priority Unlock feature. Yeah, I should invest in a test light. What I need is a wiring diagram of the power lock system. I called Mopar tech support, which is apparently handled by Audiovox, they were not much help. The guy told me I just needed to find the +12V output. I will try and see if I can scan the installation manual.

Does the alarm module that you are adding need to see a +12V pulse from the door unlock wire to disarm? If so, did you already have keyless entry from the factory?

thanks for your efforts. I figured it out today. apparently there are several tan wires with a blue stripe. the one I needed was buried in the wire bundle. Yes, the disarm wire needed a +12V pulse from the door unlock. My vehicle does have keyless entry from the factory.
