I have been shopping around trying to decide what kind of lights to attach to my roof basket. I really like the renegade light bar, but that price is way to high. So as I was looking around I found these.

From this e-bay add, the color of the lens dosn't change the color of the light that much. My KJ is black, and I was thinking that a red accent would be my style. But I don't want to put these on, to have them shine useless red light all over. Thats why I came to the experts here, can you guys tell me anything about these lights? even if it is in the other shades.

I have not seen these before but as roof rack lights, I would say don't look any further they are just too cool, and if you put then on the rack facing back I don't think Johnny Law has a problem but faceing forward be sure to check your state and county laws some colored forward lights are in some areas a REAL BOZO NO NO. But I'm book marking this link so in the future I can get some. :)

Since I'm up in Lakewood we are in the same boat. These lights a good looking, I just wanted to help you since I have been pulled over in the past and then caught a lot of greif for something I thought was a good idea and looked cool. It's just one less headache you need to deal with. After all you bought you Jeep to have fun not to sit in a court room arguing about mods that we think is harmless and cool and they think we are road warrior trouble makers..

Best of Luck
David

I have seen them. The entire light including the Jeep letters
and the grille are made of moulded plastic.

I thought they looked good on ebay, but when they
arrived, I gave them away.....

OK spent some time looking at colorado laws....The only thing I can find is that any vehicle can not have more than 4 lights facing forward. That includes head lights(2) and fog lights (2). There is even specific heights for the lights (the highest can only be 52 inches from the ground) So that means 90% of the trucks on the road are breaking the law. I did find where it stated (another chapter) that you can only have 4 lights illuminated on the highway. No where did I read that any lights had to be covered, at any time.

As for the color, the section on emergency vehicles is kinda hard to understand. I will reread it and try to decipher it. I might even make a trip to the state patrol office and talk to them.

On another note, I did find a section on suspension modifications. It seems that any modification to the suspension was illeagle to include lifting or lowering. But that law was found unconstitutional. (YEA!)

As for them being plastic, that dosn't bother me to much. As long as they don't break off the first time I am off roading.

Cool and congratulations, I agree things with the way Colorado laws are written it gets so confusing. not only that from your research it sound like even Renegade are illegal. It doesn't make any sence, but I'm one of those unlucky ones who the moment I do something like we are talking about I'm surrounded by the Lakewood PD, State Patrol and the jefferson County Sheriffs Department  , Some days you just can't win. Anyway all I'm saying is cover your rear end, because the minute you don't you become public enemy #1. Just my $.02 worth because I want a set of those to because I agree they look cool. 8)

I got a message back from the guy selling them on ebay. He said "I guess the light would be an off white"

I am not sure if that shows his ignorance in the products he sells...or if the guy just dosn't want to make a sale.

I have no clue what color the reds lenses would make, but I'd assume it would be a red beam.

They are a bit chinsey, but what can you expect from a Chinese-manufactured light for sale on ebay at ghetto prices. I got them because of the stone guards. The hellas and ProComps make the real light.
