If you get a forward and reverse harness from your local specialty shop, you will not have to cut any wires. LOC's are a pox on the audio community because they degrade the signal very much. Your best bet would be to pick an amp with balanced differential inputs so no LOC's will be required. There are only a few manfacturers who use this input stage, I know JL Audio is one of them:
