I think because we already had a few threads. Yes I know search function is not adequate, but there aren't million topics under Electronics section, just go through and you will find. If you build it, they will come. :)

I need someone to convince me that I really need a subwoofer, and that bazooka was the first thing I looked at.
KJ, don't you have premium sound on that Kj? I mean dont you have any bass? With my setup, (all stock speakers, aftermarket stereo), I am getting pretty good bass.

just get a line converter and put some subs in the back. I have 2 12 in. subs and a 750 watt amp and its more then i need. I have them turned down now but if I turn it back up it will rattle your insides haha

my stereo has dedicated sub-out, so I assume it should work fine even with the factory speakers connected to it. I am just trying to stay away from more expense on the jeep..

I now have plenty of bass. The photos should be on the shops web page in the next few weeks.

Here is what I posted.

Well I finally broke down and started installing new and "old" stuff in the KJ. I ran out of time yesterday and only got the front doors finished. I have to finish installing the dash speakers as soon as I can find a deep well 5.5mm socket. Here is wht I have in stor right now.

Front: Focal 165 VR Edition Door and dash locations. I wanted 165K2P but no funds for this. The phot is of the 165 VR not the Edition. The Edition uses a higher end tweeter.

Image

Rear doors will be stock for now 165CA1 will fill the rear doors later

Sub will be a Focal 33V2, ported but might go to a sealed later.

Image

Running the from top down will be:

Kenwwod Excellon KDC-798 Image

Kenwood PS200-T for 165 VR Edition Image

Infinity Kappa 202A in 2CH for the 33V2 DVC Image

2 Brax 1Farrad power caps with led IPC 1,000,000mf Image
Syrincs Sub Control II variable phase controller
Image

There might be an amplifier change later on to JL Audio 2 and 4 channel D-Class amps. For right now it will all just have to work. The home stereo is just too far high end over the OEM system in the Jeep so it just had to go. Thank god I work at the shop in my spare time and I get everything for a good price. I work really hard there and never ask for anything and normally get what I want the few times I do ask. it is also th reason I have the only set of keys to the shop other than the owners. Trust is very hard to find now days.

Traded a crappy ol' Mac tool cart for this...i'll probably wind up cutting down the box and only using one sub and using my Sony 7117 amp instead of the 405EQX that's I got, but I dunno. I still need 6.5s to fill out the other 4 channels...and it still needs to be wired up the rest of the way (obviously)

And yeah, I know my cargo area needs cleaned

Bill, yeah, but isn't that the 12", 200watt version? I was thinking more like 6 1/2" 100watt.

I see, thanks. Is that your sole subwoofer? That would make me pretty hot for it.. If so, that makes it a pretty good one for you to consider pairing it with your super setup.
