I had that happen two years ago. Jumped it and never had that problem again. Not sure why it did it, but since it hasn't done it in two years, I don't worry about it. I only wonderif I had left a light on inside, not close the door all the way, or if it was an extra humid day that this area wasn't used to. |

just cuz the battery is new does not mean it isn't fried. batteries have shelf lives too. get it jumped. if it runs, then you MIGHT have a short drianing it elsewhere. but since it is a sudden thing.... If it runs but wants to die at idle, the battery is down but maybe not dead. pull BOTH the battery and the alt/gen and take them to someplace that can test them and see if either or both are fried. The place you got the battery would be a good place to start. and see if they will warrantee the battery. |

i ended up climbing under the darn thing...pulling the front drive shaft, and lowering the t-case bracket...raising the t-case off the support...and replacing my starter.. i had autozone test the old one...nothing wrong. BUT...now the jeep starts and drives fine...hmmmmm. now ive got an extra starter and a learning experience. lib. starters suck when u gotta replace them. |
