I see that the recommended yellow top for the jeep liberty is a 34 or 34/78 yellow top with 55 amp hour and 750cca

The dimensions on the recommended battery are: 10x6.8x7.8

Does everyone use this battery, or have people upgraded to the larger version D31T with 75 amp hour and 900cca.

The dimensions of the D31T are: 12.8x6.5x9.4

That is the exact Yellow Top I'm running.

The bigger Yellow to will not fit without trimming the battery tray(for the width) and the height may be to high and contact something you dont want it to contact.By the way do not use the side posts,use only the top posts for any high amp conection otherwise the warrenty is void on the Optima's.

Didn't the battery tray size change after some point? What year was that?

dont know, didnt check all years. But they probably all use the same battery. i cant speak for CRDs though.

In '03 they started making the battery tray larger,I had to trim my battery tray for a group 34/78 Optima to fit but the same battery will fit with no trimming in a '03+ KJ(gas at least).
