the light in the dash doesn't come on. It's not burnt out cause when I do the instrument cluster test all the icons light up.
Sooooooo, I'm assuming the light bar was installed afterwards by the previous owner. It's the original Mopar one.
Anybody here know how I tap into things to get the light to come on when the lights are on? The switch is the original one which is tapped into the fuse box, so I need to know where to go from there

Well since you have stated in your sig that you don't have a Renny then the light bar was a added later on.In that case the light in the dash will not work unless you tie into the BCM/cluster wiring.My Renny light bar that I added to my Limited came with a little LED light to signal that the light bar was on(by intructions to be placed close to the cluster,I mounted mine next to the switch),but if you need a little light to tell you the light bar is on you got some issues,even more if at night.

See, that's the problem, I've hit the switch twice by accident ....during the day....so the only way for me to know if the lights are on when I'm on the highway or something is to set my cruise control, tie off the steering wheel, roll my window down and crawl out and visually check myself. DOH
Seriously, I little reminder light would be nice, I won't fool around with the BCM though.
Thanks for your help, there is a little LED next to the switch but it too doesn't work, I wasn't sure what it was for, guess I'll replace it.

Also the light bar will not work without the key in the run or acc position so no worry about running the battery down.

Sorry I didn't mean to sound to much like a smart stupid,but it's better then being a dumb stupid .

LOL I knew you weren't a dumba$$ cause I have seen alot of your posts and you seem to know your stuff
I know the lights go out automatically, it's just that I don't want to get pulled over while driving cause my lights were on without my knowing.....all I need is one moody cop

There is a way to make that little light come on. Ive not done it yet b/c I worry about messing up the BCM but you can have at it.
