rear cb antenna locations

Hey everyone.

I know this has probably been discussed a million times, but you know how it is finding pas information on here...

I had a glass mount CB antenna that recently flew off on the highway. So, I'm gonna mount a real one now. I'm looking for a firestik or something similar to go on the back. My first thought was spare tire mount. I'd just like to see the options of how to mount to the spare tire and if there are any spare tire mounts that I can buy since I dont have a workshop or even a garage to quickly fab something simple. Any other rear locations anyone has come up with are welcome too. Thanks!

I am really interested in the spare tire mount as well. Something that can be easily removed when not in use.

you're probably talking about the Kilby mount

the standard doesn't remove easily

and I still think the cleanest was Tokojoe's - - CB antenna/ radio antenna in one.

although someone else mentioned grinding the antenna stub and threading it - easier than drilling the mount

thanks for those links. I've seen both of those in person and they're both real nice. I like the Kilby...but geez... $55 on sale. boooooo

I think I'll go with the door jam mount, seems easy, and not to horribly expensive.

I think it was around 55 dollars also. But it just mounts with set screws so you don't have to drill.
