I think the small red and white one is for the under dash courtesty lights. No idea what the larger one is for.

I'm just confused as to why you are int he dash to install a trailer wiring harness?

You doing a brake controller?

Actually Im connecting the power wire under the dash instead of running it to the battery. If you look in your engine compartment in the fusebox you should or might have a fuse there (Number 10) named trailer tow. It goes to under the dash then ends at at Wire Harness Disconnect. So I just cut it and spliced it together so I wouldnt have to cut a hole in my firewall.

Actually no....its the power wire that feeds to the right rear of the jeep. Its the Red wire from the Supplemental Harness that some people have to pick up if they do not have the overhead console.

Yes, but offroadohio's question is still valid. From what I have read, the only reason you need the supplementary harness (and don't have the EVIC) is if you are putting in a 7-pin trailer tow wiring harness (the 4-pin should not need it), and the only reason that I know of for going with a 7-pin harness is if you are planning on installing a brake controller.

Unless you are doing the wiring for something else...

I probably will be adding a brake controller at a later time but the red wire I belive powers the trailer with power not lights but maybe the trailers acessories or brake. The supplemental harness does come with the blue brake controller wire though. The red wire from the supplemental harnees is not used to connect the brake controller, you have to run a seperate power wire and ground to the brake controller. And your correct the 4 pin does not need the supplemental harness only the 7 pin does.

supplemental wire is used for powering auxilury lighting and such on the trailer. Say its a pop up camper and you want to run the 12v stuff from the jeep, thats what its for.

As to answer your question as to what those connectors are...

I've never been under the dash fo mine so I'm nto 100% but Id say most likely things for stuff yours doesnt have fromt eh factory, lights of somesort, and thign slike that.
