What are you going to use to push that thing?

What are the specs for an encloser for that thing?

Sealed or ported?

Can it be user repaaired?

I don't care if the Navy or Army is there. I have a reason to ask if he is there with the AF.

sorry im navy but i know a couple of af dudes. im currently stationed on the uss frank cable as-40. 1 of 2 submarine tenders left in the navy.
i say they need to weld the darn thing to the peer cause we almost never go anywhere. to answer jlinstalls question the shop says it's dual 1 ohm
but the sight says it's only produced in dual 2 so if it's dual 1 ill parallel to 2 ohms and us my earthquake 5000phd (whenever it decided to get back
from me catching it on fire) but if it's dual 2 ill have to series to 1 or parallel to 4 ohms and the shop suggested the bjl btx2200.1 but i no like cause
the signal to noise ratio is stupid high but will put out 2400 or so watts at 4 ohms. can be sealed or ported but the guys at the shop says you'd have
to put an stupid ton of power to it to push sealed which is usually the case but considering the size of this beast it would be better to go ported. you can
recone it if you have experience or an good bit of help to recone this. there is a guy that works are ficaraudio.com that used to work for RE and can
recone them. i got a good warrenty and if i blow this one it'll get shipped back to get repaired and ill get a brand new one right then and there.
oh i have a good high output alternator with a optima blue top (soon to be kinetik or how ever you spell it) to keep the juice flowin. remember a good
battery will only last you so long until the juice runs dry then a high output alternator is your best friend keeping the current over 11 volts.

Ok....I know a guy over at the AF base there on Guam and was going to ask you to play a trick on him but since you are not on the base on a regular basis, nevermind.

Still though you have not said who makes the Sub or what model it is. Since the rest of your stuff is Earthquake I looked on the website and saw nothing that looks like this.

I will make a note to never offer you additional information, it seems like you cannot handle it in a nice way.

yes it is the new re audio (now owned by us amps) xxx 12. the shop had said it was dual 2 ohm but i called them (11 pm there 6 pm here i think) and asked and they
said they only configed with dual 2 ohm coils but they have 2 extra slots for a quad coil. i looked at the design of the box i would need to make for this thing and i'm
pretty good with making stuff (i should be i do it for a living) but this i don't want to mess up so im having the shop make the box for me. oh and im screwed cause
stupid me did things backwards and bought the amp first i now have to get a new amp that will go down to 1 ohm since my new amp only goes down to 2 and doesn't
have the umph i need at 4 ohms. oh and the locals are referred to as chammoro. though this sub is not SPL oriented and more geared towards SQL i still hope it'll hit
in the 140-150 db range and if that doesn't happen well... i'll just have to buy another one

Don't take this the wrong way but I was able to hit 143.5 with 400watts on a DBdrag/GASCA mic with 2 Infinity Bata 12 DVC for way less money. The next loudest car had 2 15 DVC RF with 1500 watts at 154.2 db and way more money in it. Using you resonace points will go a long way. It is the main reason you cannot use a Syrnics Bass Box for DB Drags. It has 0-180 variable phase shift. You can actually shift the resonance position in the vehicle. The same can be done if you move the box. If you had a hatch you can actually use the hatch to reinforce the bass at the mic point. Another trick I used is the A/C, chill the car before you go into getting mic'ed. It can help, better when it is humid.

i bet you can hit 150 db with a couple of sony subs but A it wont sound pretty and B the subs going to explode (heh sony explode). i'm not competing (yet) and this isn't
a SPL sub it is an SQL sub so it's designed to be the best of both worlds loud and accurate at the same time not either or. i want to get low (15-20 hz) when i want it to
get low and loud without having to recone the sucker every month or cause my car to catch on fire. i think 2.3 cub ft is good for 1 good 12 considering the other sub i wanted
needed 10 sub ft.
