Anybody added an aftermarket sub and amp and kept the existing stock unit and speakers?
I have read the stock stereo is 2ohm, has apelified speakers, ect and I don't know much about this. I just have an old amp and sub (just a single 10") from my old suv and wanted to put it in the Libby.
Any comments?

no problem. just add an amp like a JL Audio and the diffential inputs will work no matter if you have premium or not. Some people add horrible LOC's which work fine if you're not so concerned about what you hear, but it will not work easily with the premium stereo.
The stereo listed in my signature is all connected to the stock deck.

probably should be moved to the stereo forum.

I did this once with a Durango. All I did was tap into a set of wires going to one of the door speakers. I used that as the input wires to the amp. It worked perfectly fine, and I was still able to use the factory radio to its full potential. Later I added a aftermarket head unit. Now about that ohm thing, I have miss matched ohms for over 15 years now and I've never had a problem. Maybe I was just lucky? Anyway hope this helps.

I have the premium stereo and just added a line out converter so would have my RCA input on the amp. Get the best LOC you can fine I think mine was about 25 bucks and it sounds great. Two 12 sony xplodes and a 800 watt sony amp is plenty enough even for my young ears haha.

how do u know if you have premium? I just bought 2006 model that is pretty stock. It doesnt go super loud but sounds pretty good for stock. Im thinking I got the cheaper version... my Libby is pretty basic.
Dont ypu need to tap a R and L lead to go in to amp, then run to sub, even if one wooffer?
