I just got one of Sony's new CDX-M8815x HU's. In the directions they mention a wired controller that can be mounted in your vehicle. Is there any way/does anyone know how i can use the same inputs on the HU and use my steering wheel controls to work the radio, just like the OE one???

Yes, thats what it is designed to do. Take a look at the intallation manual for more information.

No, I havent used either one, sorry. Neither was available when i had a Sony HU, and since then i have a completely new setup.
The soundgate looks like the best choice sinces its designed specifically for the Jeep.
