I need to id the plug that my 06 CRD uses for the factory fog lights. I want to run Hellas but need the female interface for the factory plug to install. Anyone have a part number for a female pigtail with two wire that will work??

An aftermarket connector for 9005 series lights will work and should be available at most of the major parts chains (Autozone, Checker, Pep Boys etc).

I just got 9005 Silverstars for my fogs and was going to file down the tabs to fit. I would rather just replace the connector. Has anyone used them?

Not the Silverstars, but I am running another brand of the 'brighter, whiter' 9005 bulbs in my fog lights. As for the connector why would you want to change it?

I just thought it would be easier to change the connector than have to file the bulbs. Is my thinking flawed in this? I found the connectors made out of a high temp resistance material for 5 bucks for a pair. I just figured if I changed the connectors I would never have to file the tabs on the bulbs. I'm not really set either way so I would love to here differing views on the subject.

It takes about 5 minutes per tab to file down. I have only upgraded foglight bulbs, I have not burned one out yet. I suppose if I burned one out every year or so, it would be worth upgrading the harnesses.

Ah, I think I see where you are going. The problem isn't with the connectors, it is with the opening in the back of the reflector where you insert the bulb. Since it is molded to accept the 9145-type base you have to make the base of the 9005s match or they won't fit in the reflector.
